Psalms 130
[1]The Psalmist in distress prayeth to God, trusting in his mercy for pardon: [5]his own patience in hope: [7]he exhorteth Israel to hope in God.
A Song of degrees.
1. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
8. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Psalm 130
C.M. Martyrdom
LORD, from the depths to thee I cried. My voice, Lord, do thou hear: Unto my supplications' voice give an attentive ear. Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O LORD, should'st mark iniquity? But yet with thee forgiveness is, that fear'd thou mayest be. I wait for GOD, my soul doth wait, my hope is in his word. More than they that for morning watch, my soul waits for the Lord; I say, more than they that do watch the morning light to see. Let Israel hope in the LORD, for with him mercies be; And plenteous redemption is ever found with him. And from all his iniquities he Isr'el shall redeem.
While I sing, let my soul go and do likewise. While the unbounded mercy and plenteous redemption of Jehovah remains unexhausted, let my soul cry mightily in every trouble; believe forgiveness under the deepest sense of guilt; and quietly hope and wait for the salvation of God. Let never hopeless despair steel my heart against a God of grace.
