Home Mark Mark 16

Mark 16:10

oAnd she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

ἐκείνη πορευθεῖσα ἀπήγγειλε τοῖς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ γενομένοις, πενθοῦσι καὶ κλαίουσι.

Textual key: OMITTED or bracketed in most Bibles (with variations). Although missing in the Vatican and Sinai manuscripts, it is found in almost every Greek manuscript which contains Mark’s Gospel. In addition it is quoted by Church Fathers including Irenaeus and Hippolytus in the second and third centuries (thus predating the two ‘old’ manuscripts, Vatican and Sinai).
