And when they had fulfilled pthe days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

NKJV: When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it;

ESV: And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it,

καὶ τελειωσάντων τὰς ἡμέρας, ἐν τῷ ὑποστρέφειν αὐτούς, ὑπέμεινεν Ἰησοῦς ὁ παῖς ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ· καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω Ἰωσὴφ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ·

Textual key: ‘and Joseph and his mother’ is changed to ‘his parents’ (cf. 2.33)
